RU21 - So does it work? (for hangovers)

Without (very expensive) clinical trials there can be no definitive answer that would satisfy everyone. Unfortunately because of the expense, it is only major drug companies who can undertake this sort of testing. 
Many independent press observers (see press page) and some Hollywood celebrities have testified that RU-21 works for them.

Our own very unscientific evaluation is - out of every five people (who do suffer from hangovers) two get get amazing results feeling 100% better, two feel good deal better but not quite 100%, and one in five people feels no appreciable benefit.   Why is there a difference? What causes the hangover effect seems to be fairly complicated and personal physiology will play a part. An important point to note - some lucky people don't suffer from hangovers at all!

Could all the benefits be caused by the 'placebo effect'? It does seem to work for many who are initially sceptical. But then it does not work for everyone. So as mentioned above without extensive clinical trials there is no way of being absolutely sure. 

Some commentators clearly don't want a remedy that can prevent hangovers as they think that would increase binge drinking. Despite the fact there is no evidence that hangovers make any difference to binge drinking behaviour.

Does it prevent alcohol damage to the system?

Dr. Maevskii's results indicated that it could. But these results are over thirty years ago and have not been independently verified in the West.

Will RU-21 prevent intoxication?

RU-21 will NOT reduce your level of intoxication nor the feeling of intoxication.    RU-21 does not reduce the time it takes to become sober.

Has anyone ever had an adverse reaction to RU-21?
